Washington, DC - U.S. Commerce Secretary William M. Daley today
announced the award of a $1.43 million Economic Development Administration
(EDA) grant to the city of Sturgeon Bay and the Door County Economic
Development
Corporation, WI, to help off-set recent job loss associated with the
closure
of Peterson Shipbuilding, Inc., a defense contractor.
The grant will be used to boost business development and job
creation
by constructing industrial park improvements, recapitalizing a revolving
loan fund, and providing funding for the continuation of a defense
adjustment
exporting marketing consortium for Door County companies.
