McCAIN: SATELLITE TV BILL SHORTCHANGES CONSUMERS

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Senator John McCain (R-AZ), Chairman of the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, today made the following statement on the satellite TV bill:

``I went into the satellite television conference with high hopes of removing the legal barriers that prevent satellite TV companies from giving their customers better service and from competing more effectively with cable TV monopolies.
