RATHER: The next president of the United States takes office one year from today. The Iowa caucuses are Monday. Against that backdrop, Republican John McCain and Democrat Bill Bradley now almost desperately trying to blunt talk from the George W. Bush and Al Gore camps that Bush and Gore are the inevitable nominees. So, the campaign and the rhetoric are suddenly hotter.
