John Davidson, Paris:Online booking has yielded disappointing results for me in air fares, car rentals and more. I enrolled early on in Travelocity.com, for example, but while some reservations last year (hotel and car rental in Athens) clicked through impeccably, others have disappointed. Last month, Travelocity offered me a National car for 296 francs (about $42) a day in Atlanta. When I accepted their offer, they quickly changed the terms to $66 a day much in their favor.
