Vic: Warning on maternal depression, as hospital probes abortion
MELBOURNE, July 3 AAP - A woman who became suicidal when she learned her unborn baby
was diagnosed with dwarfism may become even more depressed after undergoing a late-term
abortion, a prominent ethicist warned today.
His warning came as a support group for people of short stature said it was a matter
of concern if unborn babies were being terminated simply because they suffered dwarfism.
Short people could go on to live "totally normal, fantastic lives", the Short-Statured
People of Australia (SSPA) said today.
