NSW: Airport guarantees its baggage system for the Olympics
Sydney Airport officials have given a guarantee that the $43 million baggage system
will operate smoothly during the September Olympics despite the latest system collapse.
Thousands of passengers were delayed and 2,000 pieces of luggage left behind when a
software problem halted the system on the weekend.
But Sydney Airports Corporation says it's working to address software problems and
a computer upgrade will be complete by the end of July.
