Two bits or two bucks? In our booming economy, a hot dog at either price rates as an All-American bargain. An everyman's informal treat, the European-designed tube steak draws loyal fans at Fourth of July cookouts, summer picnics, ballparks and, yes, the United States Capitol.
On July 19, baseball greats Whitey Ford and Boog Powell plan to join lawmakers and Hill staffers for the American Meat Institute's annual Hot Dog Lunch.
President Clinton will attend if he's in Washington. He is an unrepentant hot dog lover.
July lands us officially in National Hot Dog Month, but our romance with the foot-long or six-incher persists ...
