Ain Dah Yung, Our Home Shelter, Inc. isn't the biggest or best known Native institution in the Twin Cities, but it has to rank with the best if the success of programs, grants from the state's largest foundations, and accolades from its neighbors are used as measuring sticks.
Founded in 1983 as a shelter for homeless Native teenagers, many of them runaway, the St. Paul facilities-located a little over a block from the governor's mansion-was never a three-hots-and-cot sort of shelter.
