NEIL JORDAN wrote his first screenplay for a biography on Michael Collins 13 years ago. LAOISE MacREAMOINN spoke to the writer and director in New York recently regarding the finished product, which opens nationwide on October 11.
RECREATING history for the cinema is always fraught with problems. But although Neil Jordan had a well-documented passion for his subject, he says he found the restrictions placed on him by a two-hour film surprisingly liberating.
