AMBASSADOR-DESIGNATE W. ROBERT PEARSON

BEFORE THE SENATE FOREIGN RELATIONS COMMITTEE

Mr. Chairman and members of the Committee, I am deeply honored to appear before you today as the President's nominee for the post of United States Ambassador to Turkey. I am grateful for the trust placed in me by President Clinton and Secretary Albright. If confirmed, I will continue to work closely with Congress to advance our relations with Turkey, a close friend and important NATO Ally.
