Hayworth, House Vote to Boost Health Care for Veterans, 256-169

Veterans' Affairs member, House also reject Clinton health care cuts

WASHINGTON (June 22, 2000) - Congressman J.D. Hayworth (R- Arizona) late last night voted to expand health care programs for veterans and require that those funds actually be spent on veterans. The appropriations bill that funds veterans programs, H.R. 4635, passed by a bipartisan majority of 256 to 169. Hayworth serves on the House Veterans' Affairs Committee.
