Earthquake Hits Western Japan
TOKYO (AP) -- A moderate earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 4.6 shook western Japan on Monday morning, but there were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
The quake was centered about 12 miles underground in the western part of Tottori prefecture (state), the Meteorological Agency said. Tottori city, the capital of the prefecture, is 310 miles, west of Tokyo.
