(Independent Florida Alligator) (U-WIRE) GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- The Board of Regents will consider today a 13 percent increase in university students' tuition - a possible $250 hit to students pockets during the 2001-2002 school year.
The proposal in front of the Regents, the 14-member panel who oversee Florida's 10 public universities, would increase the costs of classes by 10 percent at every university and allow up to an additional 3 percent increase at some universities.
If the proposal is passed, University of Florida is likely to opt for the full 13 percent increase.
Under the plan, the average cost of 30 credits at UF will increase to nearly $2,500 ...
