Hutu Rebels Kill 4 in Rwanda Attack

KIGALI, Rwanda (AP) -- After months of relative calm, Rwandan Hutu rebels have killed at least four people in raids into northwestern Rwanda from hide-outs in neighboring Congo, the army said Wednesday.

The rebels, most of whom fled to Congo after taking part in the 1994 genocide in Rwanda, attacked on May 24 a tiny hamlet of Ruwero, near the border town of Gisenyi, killing between four and six people, army spokesman Maj. Emmanuel Ndahiro said.

The rebels, who fled back into Congo after the attack, are also believed responsible for two other raids in northwestern Rwanda last week, details of ...
