Today at a rally in Nashville, presidential candidate Al Gore publicly named Connecticut Senator Joseph Lieberman to be his running mate. News of Lieberman's selection for the Democratic presidential ticket broke yesterday, and much has been made of the fact that he becomes the nation's first Jewish person from a major party to run for vice president. NPR's Anthony Brooks reports that both Gore and Lieberman made that fact a central theme of today's event. ...
