Israel's new culture war: The pressure is on Tel Aviv business owners and. secular residents to embrace the Sabbath.
LARRY DERFNER Israel Correspondent haron Yekutiel, a Shas (Sephardi rigorously Orthodox) party activist in the south Tel Aviv neighborhood of Kfar Shalem, had just unlocked the little Yosef HaTzaddik shul to let in the Shabbat morning minyan.
"Come back in the late afternoon, around 3:30, and you'll see the street filled with Jews going to synagogue," he said. On this one block of Lehi Street, there are three other shuls besides Yosef Ha Tzaddik.
