Deve Gowda Mending Fences With Congress.
NEW DELHI - Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda is seeking to mend fences with the new Congress Party leadership in an effort to extend the life of his six-month-old government.
The absence of a good working relationship between him and Congress Party president Sitaram Kesri is said to be at the bottom of a widening rift between the United Front government and the party that sustains it with crucial parliamentary support.
