NEW YORK -- Manny Ramirez deposited the baseball well over the fence late
Saturday afternoon, and the Yankees tapped the glass marked "break in
case of emergency."
With the Bombers up by only three runs, Mariano Rivera warmed up in
the bullpen and interim pitching coach Billy Connors walked to the
mound.
There, in some combination of Spanish and English, Orlando
Hernandez made it clear to Connors: I haven't thrown that many pitches.
