In downtown Chicago this weekend, the Ping-Pong balls also will be
flying. More than a hundred contestants will take up paddles in a
tournament of champions, the final event of Chicago Ping-Pong 2000.
It began last month when city officials installed hundreds of Ping-
Pong tables everywhere, from sidewalks to hotel lobbies to public
libraries. NPR's David Welna has the story.
