Cyc: Aust finishes third overall in Olympic track cycling

SYDNEY, Sept 22 AAP - Australian track cycling management has rarely received praise
for its selections, but last night its detractors had their mouths shut.

The honesty of Darryn Hill and the criticised decision to ride Stuart O'Grady in the
points race on Wednesday night paid dividends when Australia won gold in the 60m madison
and Gary Neiwand took silver in the keirin.

Those results meant Australia finished third in the Olympic track cycling medal tally
with a gold, two silver and three bronze behind France and Germany.
