Environmentalists in Russia are suing President Vladimir Putin. They'
re hoping to overturn his decision to restructure the country's system
of environmental protection. Putin has abolished both the state committee
on the environment and the forest service and put the Ministry of
Nature Resources in charge of conservation. Environmentalists are
afraid the government may now try to open long-protected nature reserves.
