Fed: Paralympic flame lit and on its way across Australia
The Paralympic flame began its 14-day trip to Stadium Australia from the nation's
capital today, with many predicting the Sydney Games will be the best ever.
Members of the Ngunnawal people took part in a traditional smoking ceremony outside
Parliament House to produce the flame which Prime Minister JOHN HOWARD used to light the
torch.
The first torch bearer was wheelchair tennis player DAVID HALL, a three-time Olympian
who won the US Open last weekend and is ranked number one in the world.
