Nashville Becomes Home for Professional Soccer.
Nashville, TN-Mayor Phil Bredesen announced today the Nashville Metros entry into the U.S. Division II A-League Soccer league elevating the team from the level of amateur play to professional status.
"We are extremely pleased to have professional soccer in Nashville," Mayor Bredesen said. "As one of the fastest growing sports worldwide, this will not only give us the opportunity to enjoy the sport at the professional level but will also provide us an excellent chance to develop our own soccer programs at the local level."
