Vic: Thwaites urges arbitration for health professionals
Victorian Health Minister JOHN THWAITES is urging health professionals not to strike
today in a dispute over pay and conditions.
He's instead appealing for them to agree to arbitration.
Radiotherapists at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Institute yesterday walked off the job
for 24 hours, with their union foreshadowing similar action by health professionals in
other facilities.
Talks aimed at resolving the dispute continued late yesterday, as Peter MacCallum management
struggled to maintain full service.
