Vic; Women are taking over Australian wine industry
MELBOURNE, Oct 18 AAP - Three female winemakers were awarded the top trophies for budget
Australian wines today, reaffirming a new phenomena that women are dominating the nation's
wine industry.
Trophies were awarded for the best sparkling, red and white wines retailing for less
than $20 - judging organised by Good Taste magazine.
The wines were; Seppelt Original Sparkling Shiraz 1995 by winemakers Kate Goodman and
Natalie Fryer (rrp $17.49) in the sparkling category, Wynns Coonawarra Estate Shiraz 1998
(rrp $14.99) by Sue Hodder in best budget red and Wolf Blass Gold Label Riesling 2000
(rrp ...
