Shavuot is the optimum time of year for dairies to introduce new products, and samples of everything from leben to kashkeval to strawberry-cheesecake ice cream have been arriving at my door, all accompanied by press releases, recipes and pictures.

One of the best products I've tasted in a long time is Meshek Tzuriel's new Leben Kafri, followed by its Kefir Kafri. Rich in taste and flavorful, they are refreshing and cleansing to the palate. If you can convince yourself not to finish it in one fell swoop, you can use these products in cold soups and blender drinks, or for baking instead of buttermilk.
