(The Pitt News) (U-WIRE) PITTSBURGH -- A season filled with new team records and accomplishments ended Sunday as the upstart Pitt men's soccer team fell to Seton Hall, 2-1, in the Big East Tournament quarterfinals at Chuck Knox Stadium at Quaker Valley High School.
Pitt finished the season with a record of 13-5. The Panthers received the program's first top-10 ranking midway through the year and were ranked as high as seventh in the nation. But the hopes of a Big East title were ended Sunday by the Pirates.
"It hurts a lot," Pitt head coach Joe Luxbacher said. "But I don't want to take anything away from this season. We had a great season."
