(Washington Square News) (U-WIRE) NEW YORK -- It's rather unusual to find pictures of Buddha gracing the walls of a Catholic church. However, Tibetan religious flags covered the walls of the Catholic Center at New York University Monday when supporters of a free Tibet spoke about their movement.
Thupten Tsering and Jamyang Norbu, both Tibetan political activists, spoke to roughly 75 people, including Adam Horowitz of the Beastie Boys, yesterday about the movement to free Tibet from Chinese control.
The event, "Tibetan Independence and Its Realization," was hosted by the NYU chapter of Students for a Free Tibet.
