Spo: New Delhi says it will keep up Asian Games battle
PUSAN, South Korea, Nov 9 AFP - Indian sports leaders insisted today they would put
up a full scale battle for New Delhi to get the 2006 Asian Games at the Olympic Council
of Asia general assembly here.
Despite expectations among official circles that New Delhi would withdraw before Sunday's
vote, Indian Olympic Committee president Suresh Kalmadi said New Delhi was confidently
campaigning.
"The report saying we are going to drop out is totally wrong," Kalmadi told reporters
on arrival in Pusan for the OCA meetings.
