The World Series of baseball is off to a thrilling, if lengthy, start.
In a battle of the boroughs that began last night and ended this morning,
the New York Yankees beat the New York Mets 4-to-3 in a 12-inning
marathon. The nearly five-hour game was the longest in World Series
history. And for at least one night, the baseball lived up to the
hype. From New York, NPR's Tom Goldman has more.
