HAVANA, Aug. 23 (IPS) -- An important selection of the
archived recordings housed at the Casa de las Amricas, Cuba's
most prestigious cultural institution, will soon see the light of
day with the creation of the recording label "Casa."
More than four decades after it was founded on April 28, 1959,
Casa de las Amricas holds more than 500 recordings of Latin
American literary voices and of concerts performed over the years
in its auditorium.
Argentina's Julio Cortzar reciting his poems, Uruguayan
Eduardo Galeano reading from his "Memories of Fire" and Chilean
singer Violeta Parra performing her songs are just some of the
