`Do Tell': Hair carries great weight, even spiritually..
Ever since I shaved my moustache, I have been thinking about hair.
Hair has great cultural and even spiritual significance. Hair is one of the few ways we can easily alter our appearance. Its growth is slow enough to make a decision serious, but not irrevocable enough to make it permanent. In every culture hair has significance, from the dreadlocks of the Rastafarin to the powdered wig of the English barrister. It is no surprise that the Jewish tradition is filled with laws and customs about the display, cutting, styling and significance of hair.
