Two Jews, one an American and the other a native of Morocco, are key figures both in the promotion of tourism to that country and in advancing its role as a facilitator in the Middle East peace process.
The American is Marc Ginsberg, the U.S. ambassador to Morocco and the first, and only, Jew to serve as the envoy to an Arab country. Ginsberg, 44, is eminently qualified for his post: He majored in Islamic law at Georgetown and was a senior adviser in Middle East affairs in the Carter administration.
