Qld: Dramatic rescue in flood ravaged Mackay region

BRISBANE, Nov 17 AAP - A woman, her two young sons and three pups huddled on the roof
of a shed for more than four hours before being rescued by helicopter from their flooded
property in central Queensland today.
The Central Queensland Rescue helicopter rescued the family early today after their
farm south-east of Mackay was inundated when the swollen Rocky Dam Creek broke its banks
last night.
"It was terrifying actually with the rate the water was rising .. it was about a foot
(30 cm) every half an hour," Lynn Oliver told ABC radio.
