Vic: Power companies in power demand phone hook up
MELBOURNE, Nov 28 AAP - Victorian power generators, transmission companies and key
users convened urgent talks today after the state's power capacity was cut ahead of a
forecast heatwave today.
A spokeswoman for NEMMCO, the national electricity transmission company, said the phone
hook-up this morning revealed no major problems.
Victoria's largest power generator, Loy Yang Power in the Latrobe Valley, has had its
generating capacity halved by the unexpected shut-down of a generator on Sunday.
The unscheduled shut-down occurred at the same time as another of the coal-fired power
