Florida Supreme Court gets a chance to do it right
WASHINGTON, Dec. 4 (UPI) -- The Supreme Court of the United States Monday gave
the Florida Supreme Court a road map on how it should extend that state's
deadline for a final vote tally, and told the state court how it can avoid
future review of its actions in the federal courts.
In effect, the U.S. Supreme Court told the Florida Supreme Court that if it uses
its "equitable power" to resolve conflicts in state election laws, and does not
introduce a "federal question" into its decision, then the state court will
prevail.
