(Daily Nebraskan) (U-WIRE) LINCOLN, Neb. -- University of Nevada-Lincoln officials remain at odds with the campus newspaper at the prospect of releasing the names of students found guilty of crimes of violence or sex offenses under the Student Code of Conduct.
The language of federal and state laws governing the release of disciplinary records is unclear, but the history of the state records law shows it was never intended to conflict with the federal one.
University of Nebraska-Lincoln officials did release statistics Nov. 29 about the number and nature of offenses on campus this fall, but they remain firm on keeping students' names secret.
