Fed: Aboriginal living conditions not that bad, Howard

Prime Minister JOHN HOWARD says many white Australians resent the money pouring into
improving Aboriginal living standards because they hold the incorrect belief things have
become worse.

Mr HOWARD says improvements in Aboriginal health and standards of living have been
made by various governments over the last two decades.

Speaking on ABC Radio he said Aboriginal living conditions are still way behind the
rest of the community, but it was wrong to imagine no progress has been made over the
last 10 or 20 years.
