Alvin Ailey Dance Theater schedules fundraising gala

The Alvin Ailey Dance Theater Foundation will present Ailey's spring gala, Wednesday, June 4, at 6:30 p.m., at the John Jay Theater. Co-hosting and serving as honorary chairpersons for the event will be three award-winning artists: film and stage actor Laurence Fishburne; dance virtuoso and star of the hit Broadway revival "Chicago," Ann Reinking; and stage and screen veteran Chita Rivera. Proceeds will benefit the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center's scholarship program for promising dance students.
