CRIK: Windies opening partnership clicks for first time

SYDNEY, Jan 2 AAP - The West Indies opening partnership clicked for the first time
against Australia this summer to give the tourists a promising start to the fifth Test
at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

At lunch on the first day in front of a sell-out crowd, the Windies were 0-71 with
Sherwin Campbell on 49 and Wavell Hinds on 20 after their captain Jimmy Adams won the
toss.

It was the first time the makeshift pair had opened together in Tests but they cruised
past the Windies' previous best opening stand this summer of 45 set by Campbell and the
injured Daren Ganga in Adelaide.
