Group claims arson against L.I. sprawl
MOUNT SINAI, N.Y., Jan. 4 (UPI) -- A radical environmental group painted "If you
build it, we will burn it" on a luxury house under construction on what was one
of Long Island's remaining farms, according to authorities.
"I'm concerned with the Earth Liberation Front statement that everything built
that they deem environmentally sensitive, they will destroy," said John
Gallagher, Suffolk County police commissioner. Police said they believe the ELF
is responsible for the arson of six other unoccupied homes on the eastern end of
