Vic: Airlines aware of links between DVT and long haul flights

MELBOURNE, Jan 9 AAP - Major international airlines, including Qantas, were made aware
as early as 1989 of the possible links between deep vein thrombosis and long-haul flights,
according to new evidence released today by an Australian law firm.

Slater and Gordon, which is co-ordinating a multi-million dollar law-suit against up
to 20 international airlines, tonight released a letter to Channel Nine from a man who
developed a serious blood clot following a flight from London in 1989.
