Ten: Tough straight sets win for Hewitt

MELBOURNE, Jan 18 AAP - A more subdued but equally effective Lleyton Hewitt scored
one of the toughest straight sets victories of his career against Germany's Tommy Haas
at the Australian Open today.
In a match that was also one of the toughest between two players wearing their hats
backwards, Hewitt triumphed 7-5 7-6 (7-5) 6-4 to join fellow Australians Pat Rafter, Wayne
Arthurs and Andrew Ilie in the third round.
Following the criticism of the raucous and aggressive oncourt antics that have become
a part of his game, Hewitt seemed determined to control his emotions today.
