HP City Council approves hearing to lease or sell Blackwell Center

HIGHLAND PK. -- At its June 16 meeting, the Highland Park City Council approved setting up and advertising a public hearing to consider proposals for the lease or sale of the Blackwell Center.

Councilwoman Ameenah Omar expressed concern that included with the material for advertising for the public hearing was a proposal submited by one company.

She stated if the city council passed the resolution, it might be committed to sell the center to that particular firm.
