Black Education Network Arrives
On July 7, 1997, history was made with the first broadcast of the Black Education Network (BEN) on Time Warner and Cablevision cable systems. From 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Mondays and 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesdays on Channel 35 for upper Manhattan on Time Warner, BEN will present informational televison from "Our Prospective".
For those who live in lower Manhattan, BEN will be available on Channel 35 on Fridays, 6:00 to 9:30 p.m. Negotiations are in place for a slot in Queens through QUICS as well and with Cablevision in the Bronx and Brooklyn.
