Sunday, January 21, 2001 -- Israeli women have made advances in the private sphere and their next challenge is to translate these advances to the public sphere, concluded several of the speakers at a panel on Israeli feminism at WIZO's international conference in Tel Aviv last week.

Dr. Sylvia Bijaoui, of Beit Berl College, divided feminism into two periods: before the '60s, when there was "partial success," and afterwards, when there was a "partial failure."
