FAMU raising funds for ailing tennis great Althea Gibson

The former great tennis star Althea Gibson, who is now 69 years old, ailing and a reclusive in East Orange, N.J., has not been forgotten by her alma mater, Florida A and M University. Through its alumni association, FAMU is sponsoring a campaign to raise funds for this legend who crashed racial barriers when she won two US Opens and a French Open in the late 1950s.
