Terra Lycos CEO Resigns

NEW YORK (AP) -- Bob Davis, who built Lycos into a giant Internet portal but reportedly clashed with his Spanish counterparts after its merger with Internet company Terra, resigned as CEO of Terra Lycos Thursday.

The move clears the way for executive chairman Joaquim Agut to control the company.

Davis will continue to consult for the company, and chief financial officer Ted Philip will step down as chief financial officer to become senior vice president of strategic planning and Mergers and Acquisitions, Terra Lycos said in a news release.

Shares of Terra Lycos fell 1.75 euros, or 9.5 percent, to 16.70 euros. The ...
