Monday, February 12, 2001 -- A group of Beit Shemesh residents have organized a committee over the Internet to protest the building of a non-kosher McDonald's that will be open on Shabbat. The restaurant is the only store in a new Beit Shemesh mall, the Big Power Center, that plans to do business on Saturdays.
