Article: Program exposes UC-Berkeley students to real world of politics

(Daily Californian) (U-WIRE) BERKELEY, Calif. -- Berkeley may be a hotbed of political activity, but each semester 25 University of California at Berkeley students travel to Washington, D.C. to immerse themselves in the upper echelons of government agencies.

Through the UC Berkeley Washington Center, commonly known as UCDC, these juniors and seniors have the chance to intern at important policy-making institutions, such as the White House and environmental nonprofit agencies, while receiving credit for academic research.
